MARK MENDES

MARK MENDES

Mark Mendes, a young producer from Toronto, Canada, is listed by Beatport as one of the top producers under the age of 25, along with Avicii, Afrojack, Skrillex, Arty, and Zedd. It’s one of the first signs that this young DJ and producer’s future is a bright one. A key to his early success was finding his own unique sound when producing his own music. Mark’s music became in high demand almost immediately, and it showed, as 4 of Mark’s tracks went straight to the number 1 spot overall on Beatport. Such an achievement was so massive that Mark’s name almost overnight became widely known throughout the DJ scene. It was astonishing for such a young artist to have 4 Beatport #1s at the age of only 22, and yet it came to him naturally. Mark was asked personally to do official remixes for some of the highest profiles, including Swedish House Mafia’s Steve Angello, French pop-star Martin Solveig, and Fedde Le Grand. Fedde Le Grand also invited Mark to come play at his official Miami WMC club night party at Cameo. Remixes and DJ invites were only the beginning. Mark’s tracks made their way to be featured on a number of top DJ radio shows, including Tiesto’s Club Life, Pete Tong’s Essential Mix, Hardwell On Air, and Nicky Romero’s Protocol Radio. Across global festival stages and in the clubs, Mark’s tracks have been played by the likes of Swedish House Mafia, Nicky Romero, Tiesto, Hardwell, Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, Steve Angello, Mark Knight, David Guetta, Fedde Le Grand, and many more. Some of the most established labels reached out for Mark's sound. Mark became well known for his affiliation with Mark Knight’s ‘Toolroom’ label, having multiple releases and remixes on one of the most respected house brands. Also appearing on numerous ‘Toolroom Knights’ compilations mixed by Mark Knight and Fedde Le Grand, Toolroom certainly was a great support to Mark and his sound. Mark also was commissioned to do official remixes for Cr2 and Ultra Records, one of the biggest independent dance labels. If that wasn’t enough, Mark’s music was licensed to every single major label including EMI, Sony, Warner and Universal. Notable collaborations include his remix with Thomas Gold, of the huge Adele song ‘Someone Like You’. Mark’s ‘Aura’ collaboration with Revealed/Armada artists’ Paris & Simo received support from 3LAU, Swanky Tunes, Eddie Halliwell, Antoine Clamaran, Thomas Gold, Bob Sinclar, and Vicetone, to name a few. Mark’s single ‘Molly’ was an underground track that became a big success, hitting the Beatport top 10 overall. ‘Molly’ was a favorite amongst DJs, and was included in Fedde Le Grand’s Sensation Poland live set, and Hardwell’s Mix CD Eclectic Beatz 10. Tiesto and Steve Angello played Mark’s new single ‘Prog 8’ before it was even released. This huge early support got Prog 8 a spot onDMCWorldMagazine’s Miami Buzz Chart. Over 1000 tracks were collected, and Mark’s Prog 8 landed at no. 30. Mark started as a DJ originally, so his techniques are motivated with the same passion that he has in the studio. His international tours have brought him across the world to almost every continent, including North America, South America, Australia, Europe, Africa and Asia. Headlining clubs globally and playing major festivals have allowed him to play alongside industry heavyweights like Hardwell and Armin Van Buuren, and experience exhilaration, playing to crowds of over 50 000 people. Today, Mark’s most recent release is likely his best to date. His anthemic collaboration with Revnie, ‘Take Control’, which features some of the prettiest vocals ever. The single has a promising future, receiving it’s premier on Nicky Romero’s Protocol Radio show as Nicky’s ‘Fresh Track Of The Week’. With early radio support from Dannic, Deniz Koyu, Henry Fong, and Thomas Gold. Founding his own record label 'Starter' has housed some impressive talent, including releases from notable artists Alvaro, Paris & Simo, The Futuristic Polar Bears, Maxum, Matteo DiMarr, Dzeko & Torres, Jakko and more. With all of this and much more to come, it is certain that Mark has a rising influence in the electronic music scene and will show more true potential through his new musical endeavors.
